No I’m not talking about the chic who released open a box and released all hell, I’m talking about a new internet radio site. Pandora is awsome. You enter a favorite song or artist and based on that, it will create a radio station of songs that you might like. We’ve all seen recomendation systems on web sites like Amazon where they say “people who baught this book also baught” or some other crap like that. Pandora works differently. It’s the result of an on going project called the Music Genome Project. Basically they get a bunch of musicians to listen to music and tag it with certain attributes like how much virbrato or dynmics. Then they use this information to make a radio station of songs that you might like. So instead of making recommendations based on what other people listen to, Pandora makes makes recommendations based on what you like. Best of all, it’s free!
